Savvy Company, working with the Human Resources Association, Ottawa Chapter, ORCA and Deloitte hosted a team-building session for HR students and professionals at the Navy Mess on October 14, 2009.
The team building centred around “The Art of Making Wine”. Participants were divided into groups with 4 challenges:
- Create a winery name
- Experiment and blend a new wine from 3 grape varietals
- Design the wine bottle
- Present a sales pitch to a panel of judges.
The fun got hectic as the teams mixed and tasted their wines, and cut and pasted to create a unique label design and name. It culminated in the teams making their presentations to the panel of judges. As they finished, the judges held up their score cards in Olympic style and everyone cheered. Although only one team could win the prize presented by Debbie Trenholm, Savvy Company President, everyone had a good time, congratulated new friends and team members, and learned something about winemaking.
